Jordy, I wouldn't build an esky without one. In my opinion, they make the car so much easier to catch with just a quick wrist movement, but if it does go all the way, its also easier to get the steering on the bumps stops with less shuffling of the hands and faster.

Sure, if you can move your arms quick enough, you will be just as good without one, but for the rest of us mortals, I reckon they are great.

I used o think like that too... I can race (autocrosses and motorkhanas) with the best of them and thought a standard rack was OK if the driver is quick enough - after all I was not spinning out and able to catch the car...., but swapping to a quickrack on the autocross car took about 2 seconds off an autocross run... chalk and cheese and much easier (other than parallel parking !!!)

You will never look back, although for a road car (driven like a road car of course) it may not be worth the expense...
