Hey guys,

Just wondering how you tell the difference between a celica 5 speed from a Sierra. I've got a 5 speed in my car at the moment and want to get a quick shift for it but i am stuffed to know what box ive got. How can i tell the difference between them?

Cheers,
Rhys

g'day
A quick check From the shift point of veiw the sierra 5 spd reverse will be push across to the left and up. The celica/supra boxes are generally across to the right and down,bellow the 5th gear gate

My reverse it next to 1st. So yeah push down then left and up next to 1st. Any other 5spd boxes like that? well that would fit into a MKII escort?

Sierra looks just like a normal 4spd escort box with an extra alloy spacer between the cast iron gear case and the alloy extention housing (circled in red below) and a different shifter fitting (three bolts instead of 40-odd mm screw fitting);

Two most common Toyota boxed fitted to Escorts - firsdt is a T50, second is a W50;

Hoe this helps you identify your mystery box....

I Hope that's enough angle to see what one it is.
