Im having a little trouble removing my steering rack so i can put my new 2.4 in.do you have to remove the oil filter to get to the top bolt on the rack mount? i am trying to avoid that if i can. The top bolts are unpleasant individuals to get to especially with those dam washers [:(!]

you can get the rack out without removing anything else.

im trying to hit them back but its difficult to get to on both sides. The oil filter is blocking my view and i have no clearence. How did you tackle this problem?

Do an oil change at the same time! [:x)]

from memory i bent my arm 3 ways. i did get them off with the filter still on but it was difficult.

I hear that isnt even the hardest part, clearence would be great. Would be nice if the engine was out lol

Take the filter off, swap ur rack then replace filter, might lose a few drops of oil but saves hrs of grief !!

Im about due for a oil change anyway. Once i get the 4 bolts undone and the mounts off, what's next? is there somthing else that needs undoing besides the rack ends.
