Hi guys.
For the life of me I cannot figure out what the above acronym in my Crapi workshop manual is for.
Section 10 where all things electrical is discussed it comes up regularly.
Thanks

Thanks guys, it might be.
It is only that it is written next to items like 'engine compartment loom connector' and 'steering column connector' which would not seem to fall into this category?
If you have the Ford manual (3000 GT one) it is pages 10-64 & 10-65.

My last answer must be only appearing on my PC as you haven't commented seeing it ...............

I have known RPO to mean Regular Production Option for many years of reading Shop Manuals.

.... they put this in (spasmodically), wherever there have been REVISIONS (Improvements) to alert readers as to why their car may not have an item looking, or being, exactly as seen, or described in the particular Shop Manual, revised or original, as you may be happening to be reading at the time.

Another way of telling you not to panic if you see something that doesn't look original, as it may have been changed during production or on a "recall"

Yep thanks Bernie, it must be. No other logical explanation.

Actually the top spec MK1 capri did have an engine bay light (and a boot light) my 3000E had them.  However  the Australian delivered cars did not have the items fitted, but the connectors are there.  Should also be a driving light plug and a socket for a Map Reading light (other factory options)

John,
Onto things loom related. I came across a thread from a couple of years back where you mentioned a company in the UK (Auto Sparks if I'm looking at the same ones) who do a repo of the full loom for pre and facelift V6 plus 4 cylinder Capri's. Do you know anyone who has tried one. Looking at a grand upwards for one landed here. After you have sent your critical components (being firewall sockets/plugs) to them.

When it comes to the loom our V6 GT cars used the V4gt loom not the English V6 GT loom. Really our V6 GT loom is basic in comparison. Only worse one was a 4cyl Deluxe loom.
