old capri v6
Hi Guys,
Up to the detail stage of the badges. A couple of questions on the badge detail Mk1 V6 1970.
The boot capri badges that are for sale on ebay, are the the same as original and fit the existing 3 pins in the boot?
GT badges on the rear 1/4 are painted GT orange on the flat part, is there any black on this badge in the recessed channel around the orange?
3000 V6 are they silver or do the have any areas painted out?. Mine are both different one has black around the 3000 numbers and the other painted yellow arount the numbers out to the edges?
Any info or photos would be great,
Cheers Mark

The boot lid Capri badge should have the same pins (but worth double checking) and are the same as original. This ebay seller has a pic showing pin placement:

The side GT badges are the same as these:

As for the front guard badges, my understanding is that 1970 cars (at least the early ones) had these:

Above is an example of the badges used only for aust delivered v6's (not UK) - this ones a bit gummy but the lighter / darker shading is correct - both for the - 3000 - and - v6 - motifs. They are a lot more difficult to get then the 3000GT ones shown in the above reply - which were for UK del cars? Then of course - and rarer again - the v6 auto's had the word "automatic" below the v6 motif.

I asked this years ago because mine is a 72 with the 3000GT badge and there was an answer which said which one was correct based on year, but I cant find it.  I'm sure some of the old posts went missing when the forum swapped to this domain.

From my research v6 GT's in early 1970 were badged as 3000 GT then ford Australia changed to the 3000 V6 badge onwards around mid 1970

Correct.  Only the early 1970 V6's had the 3000GT badge, (they also had the bonnet with the cast fake rear vent).  The 3000V6 badges were originally anodized orange in that shaded box around the V6 part (I assume to match the orange of the GT rear quarter badge)
