Hello, i have just recently moved cities and purchased a 1979 Escort which needs some work, can anyone suggest a good escort mechanic in Brisbane, or perhaps point me in the right direction? I have little knowledge of cars in general but we have to start somewhere right? I was pointed towards these forums as a workmate told me they were the place to go for info and help etc..

Howdy. These old fords are very simple to work on. You might feel comfortable enough tackling a few jobs yourself if you find yourself a gregorys/ haynes repair manual. I suggest this because you may find it difficult and/or expensive to find a suitable mechanic to offer their time on an older car like this. Your friend is right in saying CFF is a great place to get info so if you get stuck don't be afraid to ask some questions in the HELP thread. Good luck :)

You could also join a local car club as the members are always willing to help out each other and will be a great source of parts too.
