Hey,
I have a 2L Mk2 RS, I've been running an elec dizzy for 7 years nows, which as failed and need a new one. Problem is, what I had is a modified bosch by my father, and getting another made up is no longer an option.
http://smckaperformance.com.au/shop/electrical-electronic-distributors/pinto-2l-standard-spec-wvac-2/ I'm looking at that but noticed it's mapped for a standard pinto, mine isn't standard so I'd like something that will suit my engine better.

Just wanting to know what other options are out there, and seeing as I'm moving to Canada sometime before Feb next year I'd like to get it running before then.

One option that many are using now is a Scorcher dissy where they use a high energy dissy from a TE Magna and modify it to accept the original pinto Bosch shaft. This is necessary for the oil pump drive.
They can also set up the curve based on your cam specs.
I ran this for a few years until i put injection on the car and it was good. Set it up once and never had to adjust timing or anything ever again

Scott, what part of dizzy has failed? being Bosch, the module is probably either still available new or at wreckers.

My mechanic was able to grab the head part and turn it in the housing. I'd like to upgrade to something that will allow for custom mapping as I have supercharger and twin cam plans down the road.
I'd also prefer to get something off the shelf as I will be moving countries soon.

I remember I might've had some spares, so I took a photo;
Left; The elec dizzy I took out
Middle; Possible a standard points, it has 'Lucas' written on it
Right; Possible elec dizzy from my spare 205 block (from an 80's transit) with coil and box unit thingy still attached.

Any thoughts?
