Can anyone point out how an American 2.3 pinto engine differs from our 2.0 pinto?

Is the flywheel different? Engine mount points? Or accessories?

And also, how do they get the extra 0.3 ltrs? Through a different crankshaft?

Seems like an interesting prospect....

Here you go.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Pinto_engine

They are basically a different engine with very few parts being interchangable.

Cheers,

They are entirely different and not good for much except perhaps stopping a small boat from floating away.

I have a Ford Brazil Factory recon motor in the shed, surplas to requirements, if your interested.
needs a sump and rockercover to compleate.
there was a couple of guys in vic that were building this engine for themselves (just cant remember who) and I think one was a turbo version from a mustang.

Thanks for the info guys. If its not escort friendly, I think I will stick with the UK pinto.

Thanks for the offer Hendo!
