Go the one piece shaft - been using one in the RS for 23 years now, no detremental effects so far....

James I think I will eventually go down this path. Whether it's a custom made, or after market job.
I just think the Escort two piece is a total hassle.

Using factory one piece out of a mk2 van from memory - replaceable RUJ1786R unis make life real simple

The one piece tailshaft was a factory replacement part at the time, I replaced the two piece with the one piece on my RS2000.

I think the two piece was the first to go on mine.
Threw a uni in it once, Didn't come out but made a naaaaasty feeling.
 
I remember that brace. I have to go look for mine.
Does it really make a diff?
Not sure if i ever put it back after the sierra box went on.
