Haha unfortunately living 2hours away from the car, and a very busy job does make it harder than id like. But its all coming along now. Dare say ill start a thread up in the new year.

Actually at present building myself a car trailer so I can cart it around, and also for future track days

Hi
Unfortunately I think the track is increased slightly - definately not decreased.
What is the thickness of the drum face which the wheel mounts?

The rims look very nice. 15x8? Can you tell us what brand?

There an old ROH rim. Picked them up off ebay a little while ago.
Alloy centre with a steel rim. Not the lightest rim but seem very well made, strong and look nice.
The Simmons F90 wheel are very similar also. Which i believe are still available and very high quality.

Wheel size is 15x6j. Tyres are 195/50/15 Achilles 123r's.

15x8's won't really fit on a non bubble-arch mk1. Biggest I've seen is 15x7. And then you need to get the offset spot on. Ideally id like mine to have 10mm less offset, but they fit.. just.
I could also get 185/45/15 road tyres which would help give more room as well, but the car is sprung very stiffly so shouldn't pose too much of a problem. And i got these tyres from my mate for peanuts so will give them a go.
