a bit odd about pump youd think theyd self prime a bit. wasnt the commodore tank mounted under the floor also. unfamiliar with the van connections, you havent inadvertantly connected to the return line. the datto 1600 connections are side by side, crossing them results in same.

Yea these pumps don't self prime when higher than tank or tank outlet and aren't good at sucking so when setup as gravity fed shortest possible pump inlet hose should be used,oh and yes every vl had an in tank lift pump.

Glen, For it to run reliably without lift pump it would need to be mounted at the tank outlet, at its height or lower.Since this isn't possible I reckon the only way is to swing it all to the right run a lift pump on rh side or front then vl pump in front of tank, also this should allow room for tail pipe.

Oh by the way pano is coming together nicely. Keen to see it running ....as I am sure you are tooπŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

so its finished to an extent,

it could do with some more tuning as currently its set to 1/2 throttle to only use the 2 barrels of the 575 mighty demon 4 barrel carb .
We plan on doing once we fit up a 350 holley on a std manifold, then we will add some more boost as its only spiking at  7psi, but if the grunt it has now is anything to go by its gunna be a lot of fun once the bugs are ironed out. It has no problems spinning both wheels through 1st gear and a bit of 2nd when prompted.
The best part is the borg warner lsd diff,  stiff suspension and at the moment the  hard tyres are fun.

its not the same car as it was 4 years ago (stock pinto stock suspension)

1st drive was to the new skool old age show,  then  home, now we just look forward to developing it more and adding small things like trim to the rear and rear bumpers...

its just nice to have it at home finally. and as some people know we moved into a new place last week with a shed just for the van, its defiantly been a busy month.

sorry bout quality of some pics they were taken late in a delirious state fitting the trim.
