Hey all,

Was looking around on the net for anyone in Australia that makes new reproduction door trims for the Escort. I remember some years ago some bloke at the annual RS Concourse showing his wares but have long since forgotten who he was.

Can anyone please supply the names of some blokes that do new reproduction items of interior door trims.

4 trims for my Corty are about $500.00

I rang his number, 02 9533 3988 and got a message saying that he has a big backlog of work until July and to contact Rare Spares. Do you know him?

I'm after a full reproduction door trims for my 2 door Mk 2 RS, complete with the roll over lip on the doors, chrome highlights and the arm rests and the rear trims, i.e. As original.

If you know him, what's the best way of getting in contact with him? I'd like to see some images of his products.

I spoke to Polyweld 12 months ago and the issue is the metal curl over on RS's - he doesn't make them. It was on a to do list, but wasn't anything in the short term. Same issue from the UK supplier - might have been Aldridge's - not sure (their Ad is in the back of Classic Ford and/or Retro Ford).

Rare Spares can do it on an exchange basis (that means you have to give them the door card with the metal curl). Costs are around $550-580 for a set of 4. Check their web site for a product number/price

Rare Spares trims are done by Nick at polyweld.He is a one man operation and is flat out all the time,Rare Spares is his biggest customer and I guess are becoming like a distributor for Polyweld.If you buy from Rare Spares,they are done by Nick at Polyweld

exactly what i was chasing

Problem is my door trims don't come with the metal curl over the top, it has the standard wood that has been bent over and reshaped. It is all mangled due to it's age, hence the fact I need brand new door trims. Anyone else got suggestions?

I've recieved interest in my email from people who are after the exact same thing. Might be a bit of business for the person that can supply the door trims!
