Hi all, I'm making inquiries on behalf of a friend with a Mk2 Cortina GT in need of some new strut cartridges. It appears KYB, Pedders and Munro no longer have a listing. Can anyone recommend a suitable brand available in Australia and/or supplier. Thanks.

Use the ones to suit the Capri struts. They require a spacer in the bottom before the shock (about 1.5-2 inches from memory, you'll need to have a measure). Apart from that they are a direct fit.

Used them a few times now, no probs at all

Otherwise,

I'm pretty sure they are the same as the 2lt escort....

I've used the Capri catridges on my coil-over conversion for 1964 Anglia and shortened the strut casing by approx 75mm. They are still listed with Munroe. I've got a couple of Mk11 Escorts I can take some measurements from. I'm not sure whether there is any difference in the size of the threaded section at the top of the rod.

The top shaft is too big for the original cortina strut top with the mk2 Escort inserts. The Capri ones have the correct shaft size, and the correct retaining nut.

Thanks again Wozza.

Thanks Woz, I'm not running standard strut tops So wasn't aware of the difference. Didn't mean to give the wrong advice.

Thanks, Shaun

Thanks for your input guys. I'll pass on the information. I'm not sure what strut top he proposes to use so either application may be suitable.
