How do you convert a 1954 Ford pickup from 6 volt to 12 volt?

Just run twice as many wires mate haha, nah just kiddin.
Try asking a Volkswagon specialist. Most of the old VW's were 6 volt aswell and get converted

Hi I have a 1963 "beetle" and did look into upgrading to 12volts, i never actually carried out the conversion but did find out basically what's needed. Basically you need to change all switches, motors, dynamo etc, the only thing that would handle 12v would be the wiring. Why change it to 12v?

you will have to change teh starter motor, generator to a 12v alternator, your horn, globes ect. if there is any relays or selinoids also. Switches will be fine. other than the starter motor and generator everything else sholdnt cost to much.
