I had a hilux housing shortened by Driveline Services in Tyabb, on Mornington-tyabb Rd.

Was happy with the service, quality of the job, and turnaround time. Was 220 for just the housing.

But what was done?

Shortened housing and axles, new 4 pinion LSD new 4.11's and new bearings etc, fit spring saddles, change the flange to a smaller commodore one.

Thats for the replys guys, seems 1300 odd is the going price for what i want/need to get done

While on the topic, i was told by one of the diff shops i rang that you cannot change the stud pattern on the flange as it is deemed to be weakening it. so i was told i need billet axles

Opinions

My plan was to have the holes plugged, flanges refaced and then correct PCD drilled.

Nigel - I gave Driveline Industries a call he seems like a top bloke and very well priced. and wasn't trying to feed my full or crap and upselling me to a 9inch

Cheers

Yeah they are a small operation but know their stuff. If you do head down there make sure you check out the alloy 9 inch diff housings they make. Pretty fancy looking units.

Yeah he did mention that they did full on 9's but after asking my power output he didn't push the matter and just told me the best things i can do to the BW

Sorry to ask u this as i forgot to ask him
Do u think he'll need the car or if i just give him my diff and a std mk2 diff to work off he'll be fine?

Cheers

Either of you guys have any idea about the billet axle situation or are you both running the stud pattern that the diff had

I was told by Keysborough diffs that it is illegal. Counts as a stucual modification and apparenlty wont pass an engineers cert
