Clubman set will fit no problems, HD set will require some minor fettling of the housing to fit. (I assume it is the Quaife set you are talking about)

Yes

I have one of these in my green car and the housing and all other bits are just regular Ford single rail.

Great box in a competition car but is a pain in the clacker on the road with its ratios.

If you are trying to fit Quaife H/D gear kit you will need to modify the ends where the layshaft sits in the box. I had one done years ago and still not assembled the RS1800 gears. I was lucky and used the RS1800 case for Quaife kit and everything just slotted in.

Roj,

Like Ari says, I have an HD set and the standard housing had to be relieved to get it to fit. I can show you when I get back one of these days. I will probably end up selling the box as I've almost got the ZF parts together.

I seem to remember JJ had a Tran-X set when I was down there about 10+ years ago, maybe your right. The clubman fits no probs though.

Cheers

I can supply tranX gear sets cheaper than Quaife.

I have a straight cut rocket box in mine and I love it, but some days I wish I could keep it in 4th gear Too darn noisy.

$1175 + local freight to you for the regular gear set (which are rated to 190hp & 7,500RPM)
That includes the bearings.
Any ratio you want from the 2.48 up to the 2.32 and various intermediate ratios.
Assuming they are in stock, delivery in around 2 weeks

the tran-x sets are great! i got a set off smcka and have done a few events with it and there great!.. another bonus is when you get a gearset off them they come with a bearing and gasket set as well to reco the box at the same time.. only mods i did to the box was tap the bottom of the casing and put a filler plug from another housing i had so now i can drop the oil out and keep it clean highly regarded! i just got a tran-x lsd installed in my rally car over the weekend and cam say only good things about that as well!
