Can anyone help with torrent downloads. Being new to these downloads I can seemingly download MP3 files onto the desktop but I can't play them. I've tried Vuze and Utorrent. What am I doing wrong?
If anyone can give me step by step instructions I would be grateful.
Cheers, Big Al

You will normally download a link for utorrent to follow. How big is the file you're downloading onto your desktop? What is the file extension?
If you're just downloading the link then you need to import this into utorrent to begin the download.
Let me know.

Like Paul said, you need to use a downloading program to download the files (limewire or bitorrent or similar), the torrent is like a link that the torrent downloader needs to start the download.

if the files that you have downloaded are only a few kb's then that is just the torrent or link file, and you need the downloading program.

if it is mp3's you are downloading then they should be playable in any music player. a whole album would normally be between 50 and 300mb's depending on file type and quality.

hope this helps.

Be warned, if you're not 100% what you are doing be careful most of these programs will run in the background and share out what you've downloaded.

Your ISP can see exactly what you are doing and there is companys out there now releasing some of these files so they can track who is downloading \ sharing it.

Look into using a proxy if you keen on doing it still.

And also be warned that there is an increased chance of getting your computer infected by using a torrent.

But I haven't had any problems with Windows Vista and AVG.
