I mucked about tested the radiator & water system --- fitted a gauge & a tiye Schroeder Valve pumped it to 13 PSI and found the pump vented out the hole under it --- bunged that and them took it a bit higher and waited till the presser droped
sad

have you had a comprssion test

no i haven't done a compression test yet. i did think of that, but cant find the tester.

i tried yet again having it running, just with a brand new cap.

notice this time was, the top hose was bloody hot, bottom hose ice cold!

bottom of radiator ice cold, top of radiator hot!

going to pull out the thermostat and check it manualy in some water as Danny M said, and if thats ok, i may have bought a dodgy radiator [:u]

VERY VERY relieved! removed thermostat, dropped it in a pot of boiling water.

things dead as a door knob.

is 82 degrees the recomended for 2ltr then or..?

ill pick up a replacement 2moro and try again!

problem fixed! too easy [:x)]

i should have checked that first haha

while i was there i replaced the signal wire to the temp guage (must have been stretched or something when changing motors) and now temp guage is working too!

thanks for the replies guys!
