I have a 105e anglia diff, spin the prop shaft 2 full turns = 1 full rotation of the wheel. is that right? what ratio is that? do both hubs need to turn to work this out?

Doesnt sound enough.

If its still the original diff in the 105E it should most likely be a 4.125:1 ratio which will mean 4.125 turns of the tail shaft to 1 full turn of the wheel.

depending which way you check it you will get a reading that is half actual ratio due to the sun gears acting as a reduction.

If my memory serves me, you can check the diff ratio by performing the following...

Jack up ONE rear wheel, making sure tha other one is not going to spin.... Then rotate the turning rear wheel TWO complete rotations and count how many times the propshaft rotates... if it rotates just over 4 times then it is a 4.1 as it should be...

I am going off memory here so check it on the interweb thingy too to make sure I have every aspect of this wrighte ???[:I]

James is right, spun both hubs at the same time & counted 4 and a bit turns of the tailshaft flange.

sounds like about a 4 to 1 to me --- if you only turned one wheel as it gos twice as fast--have an other go just to make shour

Just pull the centre out out and check by dividing the crown by the pinion. hahahahahaha O

thats what i did while i had my diff apart, counted just over 3+ 3/4 turns to 1.

if your gonna go to all the trouble of pulling the diff out just count the teeth on the crown wheel then use a manual to check witch ratio it is.
