It was interesting, long time waiting to find out some type of engines history. Still far from finding out more. I would like to tell that the engine is out of a car that past threw the production line 9/72. Last part of the Sido number withheld, I will say, only falls short of one of the eleven highest Sido numbers already listed.
Does a Sido number indicate dates for shipment to a dealership?
Sido 5130xx

Not sure where you've seen a list of the highest eleven SIDO numbers listed but, SIDO numbers are as high as 804746 and 816192, with many examples on Capri ID plates in the 700000 series as well. Also, as far as I'm aware, the SIDO number has nothing at all to do with any dates.

Terry is correct. SIDO has nothing to do with dates. There are cars from 1969 that have SIDO numbers in the 780xxx range.

Hi Reeni,
When restoring your Capri, it would be desirable to use the original engine.  You would only need to use the original block.  I assume the original block has an issue that you say is expensive to fix.  What is the block issue?  All engine parts on the Australian produced V6 Capris are interchangeable.

John
