Hi All,.
Anyone else hate to have to jam the fuel nozzle in past the number plate holder when fuelling up? I hate doing it and also having to put my lockable fuel cap on my bodywork or putting it on the bowser, in case I drive off without it!! I gutted a magnetic catch to form a pivot, pop riveted to the plate holder, bent a piece of stainless brake pipe into a C shape, with one leg longer than the other and with a bit of plastic tube on the end . When it s time to fill up, pull down the plate holder, swing the C section up and sit it on the back panel on the car. Keeps the holder neatly at bay, gives me a shelf to sit my cap on and eliminates any possible accidents with paintwork. I took to the raised support ribs in a couple of places with my die grinder to allow the C section to sit down flat on the back of the plate holder, which goes back to its proper place and everything is out of sight. See picky attached. Cheers, len
