I have decided to do some repairs to my sills and now I need to paint them up to match the paint on the car.
The question is how can I determine the paint type on the car.
My suspicions are its enamel as its had a paint job some time ago.
Safest bet is to blow some enamel over it, if I use acrylic the I may have trouble trying to blend it in.
The other possibility is its a 2pack as it chips in places, has a pretty good shine and doesnt seem to affected if I clean area with some general purpose thiners.
if it was acrlyic I would get some colour the rag?
Wouldnt the same thig/similar happen to enamel?
Coudl it be 2 pack?
Any clues/tricks I can use to be certain?

Thanks
Emil

You can  get an isolator coat to prevent the thinners in the new paint frying the old paint. But an easier way would be to find a paint supplier who could tell you what it is and supply the right colour for you, your best bet is to get the paint matched to the paint on the car and not a colour code due to sun bleaching and other factors that will fade or change the colour.
