What is the Size of Crook Part, Length/Diameter
are the connector wires to the part burnt,?? are there connectors on the end of the wires ,
or do they go back into the loom.?? Looks like a Ballast/Resistor, me thinks.!! what colour/s

The bit that is burnt is brown and its 60cm long, and it goes into a plug thats blue/red and a black/silver wire

As I suggested earlier dimmer resistor! Delete the resistor altogether it's not like escort dash lights are blindingly bright and need dimming. I deleted it in all my escorts.
