The Other Half
Hey guys. If anyone has fitted Brembo's to the front of their small ford could you perhaps PM me with your thoughts on them?
Is their anyone other than DMRR in the UK that sells Brembo's kits? If not, what part numbers would I need to chase? Special brackets required?
I'll be running 15 inch wheels and Group 4 struts with the wider stub.
Cheers

Demon Tweeks has one listed but you'll need to contact them to get more details.

AP kits are the most widely available and there are a couple of Alcon kits about too.

What made you choose Brembos?

Ah Cheers. No reason in particular. AP seem to be advertised everywhere so I thought I'd try and investigate Brembo's to see what they offer as well. Any one else? I recall Phil's Cortina had some but there were from a Porsche?

My RS is fitted with BFII GT Falcon brembos with 330mm rotors in a 16" superlite (same as F40 Ferrari)....I never used that name when ordering new pads, just the code...There are 2 widths for pads that can be used, depends on the rotor chosen, suggest the smaller 82mm height is used.
The caliper is rather large, so with the smaller rim diameter it will limit the rotor diameter...

We made new alloy hubs to fit the rotor in the right position and clear the rim and the steering joint...

There are easier ways to solve, but we enjoyed the challenge of a custom arrangement and 330mm rotors in a 16" rim leaves little space for clearance...

Thanks Mark. I'm preferably after an off the shelf option although yours does seem nice. Nice work on the car BTW. I've been looking at around at all the options. I'm running 15inch wheels. AP seems to be the most common. They seem to have a 305mm rotor package. Cheers

Gday Nathan,

If you're looking at the AP's, go for the kit with the 28mm thick discs, especially if you plan to do a bit of motorsport.

The AP's look like a nice kit - but you could save some $$ and do the Mazda/BMW conversion. You can go for a 286 or 302mm disc with this conversion.

I am running the 286's and not far from you if you are interested in seeing how easily it goes together.

Cheers

That would be great Ash. Thanks for that. Do you live near Avon? Maybe next week some time.
