Thanks to all for the comments. Was bit suprised at all the feedback. Makes all the effort even better [:p]
Mk2_2dr_2L, it was weird driving round the block, it seemed like more people were out and about than usual, they've probably seen me working on it for last yr and half and now driving it. Got a few waves and thumbs up.
Mr. Mk2, enigne is 2lt, 40thou overbore, duratec pistons, oversize s/s valves, fair bit of port work, hardened exhaust seats for PULP, pear shaped inlet ports for injection, enlarged exhaust ports, Kent Fr32 cam, double valve springs, adjustable cam wheel. Currently running 38DGAS weber, but will put injerction on when ive run it in.
Suspension is a work in progress. Front has capri struts with sigma roll tops, 220lb king springs, with capri koni reds. Antidive kit with RS swaybar, want to swap for 24 or 27mm though. Rear is lowered re-set 4leafs setup with budget monroes I bought back in yr 12. Haha, I was poor ok. Waiting on a set of koni yellows for it and springs could do with being replaced and new bushes.
Ashley, was pretty loud without bonnet, but I loved it. And the neighbours had to as well [:x)] problem i've got is its idling at 2500 when hot or 2000 when cold. They love it!
Ton, all the best with your porject mate, will be a great feeling.
Another update: After work today, put bonnet on but bonnet release is stuffed, painted bumperettes and rear bumper and one door mirror with spray can I've got colour matched so it doesn't look like police bait. Will get it all sprayed properly soon as im not happy with the bonnet and inside of boot needs to be done, so when paints in the gun I'll get it all done properly.
Took Russ for a drive 2nite, lost 1of the bolts holding alternator on. Good a grinding noise coming from front left wheel (i think.... will investigate next week)
Still idling to high, but think Russ was midly suprised at how it went. So we shall have the brothery drag as soon as its possible!
I won't hold my breath [:I] but injection and a tune will help me a bit.
Also to all the Adelaide guys, look forward to cruising soon.
