How does it drive on the throttle bodies? Got any more pics of it all installed?

i was driving next to the car today and it sounds tough...
really quiet at idle and just screams all the way up through the revs...

Cheers lads, its come along way from the original 56kws it had when I first had it dyno'd. It's been a few years and a long road but happy to say its about where I want it minus turbo power. Will post up more info after tomorrows dyno day.
It's not finished and probably never will be, hopefully it can continue to evolve.

Bit of an essay....

Ok got all my dyno sheets out since owning car, rebuilding motor, before after and Sierra EFI and now quad throttle bodies.

The first dyno tune I had of it was back in 2001 where it nearly snapped the rollers at 56rwkws this was with same cam it's running now (Kent FR32) and a 38DGAS carb

Then in 2003, it maganaged 58rwkws same engine combo as above, with carb serviced.

Then car was pulled off the road for too long and went through a rebuild. At this time I rebuilt motor and put a few more goodies in it with Sierra EFI and a Haltech fuel only computer, first dyno tune it pulled 85.9rwkws at 164km/h this was in the start of 2006. As a result of that, the car hammered but broke down that day and without going into it the car will never go back to that dyno.

A month later I took it to Boostworx, and it pulled only 74.2rwkws at 120km/h this was a fair way down on the above, the 43degree day may have had some impact but later that same year and the last time I had Sierra EFI setup dyno tuned it gave a reading of 75.3rwkws with an adjusted tune. So it shows a bit of difference bewteen dynos.

So here I am thinking what can I do next I was over the Sierra setup already and wanted to try something different, went with the Suzuki throttle bodies and at the same dyno with new setup, this time with a new computer it pulled 84.3rwkws with a 90-95% tune as the car needs bit more work before tune can be completed. So I guess out of all that the only real way to say what the mods have done it the 75.3 vs 84.3 figures. I got the car back at midday Friday and had it get in a roadworthy state for KPM dyno day the next morning

Then yesterday at KPM's dyno the car got 108.3rwhp which is about 80.8rwkws?

So for those wondering, there it all is. I walked away with some things to improve on yesterday. First up is to fix the vacuum leaks in the manifold because I had a thread tapped into the top of each port incase I needed a vacuum port, all of these are leaking, and my throttle linkage isnt quite right because the t/b's are spaced to suit manifold so the throttles arn't balanced perfectly.
Then it's time for some more tuning and a fiddle with cam timing as it's never been touched via the adjustable wheel. Then once thats done I'd like to leave it and enjoy it.

So a noticable change to throttle bodies compared to the Sierra EFI(throttle response etc)?

What was the torque curve like compared to previous set-up?

Beefcake, yeh your right I should get a gromet, its actually in behind the glovebox at the moment because its old and shagged. Thanks also for the kind words.

Paul, driving it is fairly different, Im still getting used to taking off at the lights because throttle is alot different. It's much more boggy below about 3500rpm-ish which sucks a bit, but once its going it feels much more lively and sounds alot better. So I'd probably say I had more respone down low with Sierra EFI but more up higher with this setup and it feels like it pulls harder for longer.

As Diablo69 said the power curve is pretty good, Mark commented on this during the dyno and said it needs a little more refining in the tuning to over come a boggy section when snapping the throttle in the lower revs. The curve doesnt differ too much from my previous printouts.

Car looks fantastic Rhys, a real credit to you. Car must sound great with the quad throttles on it now, hope you get the minor issues sorted so you can enjoy it
