My Mk2 1600E went straight through the M.O.T. test to-day, second year running, made them well in 68. Finn.

Not only do we have very little rust here Finn, we also have no yearly MOT. (Qld. anyway). Only time you need a roadworthy certificate is when selling a registered car.[;^)]

One thing we do have in the UK is lots of rust, the older Fords like mine that are run all year round do need to be kept an eye on, as we dose the roads with, literally, Tons of Salt during the winter. Finn.

hey there finn they must of built them better and then slackened off ...my 69 came from the uk and had very little rust although it has lived here in Australia since the 70`s.
do you guys really have to MOT your cars every year? thats a bit tough especially on the oldies that dont get driven very much

we do have some old rust buckets here also, i suppose it all depends on how well looked after they were by their previous owners
my brother just picked up a 38 oldsmobile (yeah a Holden body) i reckon it`s been out in the elements for 50 years but its only surface rusted ,which tells me that they made better cars in 1938 (rustwise at least)
