Some new fully sick photo's.

A mates car had a photoshoot for some Holden magazine (HG GTS, very purrrrrdy car), and the photographer offered to take a few pics of the Riceline.

Here's the Munro, it's a genuine GTS with a Jack Brothers built 383 stroker, big heads, huuuuge cam and a toploader...yep, it's manual! (this is just a photo off my phone, I'm not allowed to share the proper photo's cause of copyright or something)

Yes. And talking of Holdens, an old workmate of mine finally took his 350 chev Torana to willowbank T&T 4 weeks ago. Ran 11.53!

Okay so here's my story. On Saturday I was pulling the harmonic balancer off to remove the timing belt and put my new cams in, and to my surprise I find the keyway on the balancer has been flogged out. Then after closer inspection I notice a cracked edge on the balancer which looks like it's from a hammer. Obviously some jerkoff in the past has tried to put the balancer back on and has had trouble lining it up on the keyway, so instead of trying again, they've bashed it on with a hammer. Not cool...here's the flogged out keyway (the picture is off my phone so you can't really see it, but it's the top side).

To make things worse, the key itself on the crank has been chipped off completely. So I was left with the following choices:
a) pull the motor down and put a new crank and balancer in (probably rings for good measure)
b) pull the motor down and send it away to get built properly
c) put an RB30 bottom end in

I chose option C I will most likely go for a R.I.P.S bottom end. If you haven't heard of them, they are pretty much kings of RB engines outside of Japan, they're in NZ.

So anyway, in true Sinclair fashion, my car is off the road. Again. Right before I had the chance to put my new cool stuff in!

Bosch 044 and surge tank

Cryo! There is a sprayer bar for the intercooler to go with these but it hasn't turned up yet, not that I can use it yet anyway!

Yeah I noticed your bad fortune with regards to the balancer - that sucks alot!

Still, should be a great result once it's all completed. It's going to fly!

youll have to give me a head-up when you head out to willowbank next time, be good to take my new car out there see how it goes up against the 33.

Yeah it's pretty annoying, but at least I picked it up before it had the chance to fly off...that would've been far worse haha.

What's your new car mate? I'm curious!

I might have jumped in to the RB30 idea too quickly. I knew there was machining to do in regards to an oil gallery for the VCT but I want the car on the road sooner rather than later, and it'll take me a while to save up the proper cash to make the RB30 work. Anyway I've been referred on to an engine builder who does a lot of RB's and after talking with him it'll be cheaper to build my RB25 bottom end, put some valve springs in, a good water pump and oil pump so it'll spin to 8000rpm all day every day.

I told the engine builder that I want to do 10s and he's assured me he can make it happen. This made me happy.

I'm sure I'll change my mind again anyway...

yer it is but that is very true that you did pick it up,

sold the daily escort and got this http://classic-ford.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20873

well if you can achieve 10's out of your 25 thats defiantly a respectable street car for sure.

That looks great! 12.5 is unreal too! Do you know what mph it did the 12.5 at? Should be bundles of fun mate.

The engine builder said with my suspension set up he can make 10s happen with no dramas. I'm just waiting on the quote now. Hopefully I can afford to go in to the 10s [88]
