Hey All,

I'm after a bonnet pin and spring assembly as well as the safety catch to suit a MK1 Escort.

No idea what they're worth, so let me know what you're after.

Am happy to swap if you're also chasing parts.

Let me know.

Thanks.

Chuff.

I've had no luck getting a response from ITGRIPS and I need these parts.

Anyone else got these parts?

Thanks.

Sorry Chris,

I booked my final RWC inspection as well as VicRoads registration today only to later realise that I've fixed everything on the RWC list bar the bonnet pin, so now I'm on a deadline. Didn't mean to sound pushy.

Looks like Simon on RSM might be able to help out locally and soon, so I'll see how it goes.

Fingers crossed!

Thanks.

No luck with Simon as he had Mk2 parts which will not fit (thanks Simon) so I'm still on the prowl for these parts and I need them ASAP.

(Chris, you there? )

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

Just to clarify as per my PM on RSM, I have a Mk1 bonnet pin and spring assembly - it's the bonnet catch that is Mk2.

Simon.

Thanks guys.

I have the parts from a Mk2 and they won't fit as the Mk2 pin in metric and larger in diameter, and the catch opens towards the front of the vehicle by lifting a tab whereas the Mk1 catch opens left to right by simply sliding it. As a result, the captive nuts in the Mk1 bonnet that hold the catch are at right angles to what the Mk2 require.

Simon, thanks for the assist, but with time pressing, and Chris having all the parts I need, I'm going to have to go with him.

Unless things go pear shape, this may be the end of my search.

Thanks again to all.

Paul.
