I used a carby off a 2.3 v6 Cologne(i thinks) , its a 34/34dgas the same as the 38dgas/40dfav where both barrels open together worked well on 1600's and 2000cc stockers....prolly hard to find now though[B)]

The mexicos also had a different cam & larger exhaust valves too didn't they?

I know the 32/36 can yield good results, just wasn't sure if it worked well on the standard 1600.



Yes Ratta tat tat, MK1 UK Mexicos had the same engine than MK2 UK 1600 sport. In my country we have only MK2s Sport, (either from UK or Germany), and they werre fittted with 32/32 carbs, so we change for 32/36 for better results. I don't really know how were this cars in Australia, but anyway, I think 32/36 is not a bad choice. You always can play with jetting.Cheers,
