The mounts that were on my 1300 MK1 escort block were rectangular and were fixed to the crossmember by a bolt from behind.

However the 1600 MK2 mounts have 10mm threaded rod fixed into them which protrudes about 30mm. I tried to subsitute one of my worn rectangular mounts for a round MK2 one but it's not playing ball trying to get the motor back in. I'm thinking i'll need to track one down to replace the original. The other side has been replaced at some stage. Had a sticker on the side, 68-? ford cortina. Please let me know if or where I can find an OEM/copy replacement. Thanks

the rubber round MK2 ones could well be a mexco sports and are longer that the rectangular molded rubber ones ----the cortina Mark 3 / 4 / 5 have a shouter Round rubber one.. but not longer than the cortina ones

They are definitley cortina mounts that were in there. The cortina ones are much better because the motor can just sit straight onto the crossmember and then put bolts through the back into the mount. The problem i'm having is lining up the fixed studs on the escort mounts with the holes in the crossmember.

I called Yesterford on Saturday. He has the rectangular type but they have the fixed stud in them, same as these ones- http://www.basisnz.co.nz/product.pasp?categoryid=116&productid=1915 I also re-checked my measurements of the original 1300 mounts (681F block). Both brackets and rubbers are the same length. 4" bracket and 30mm rectangular rubbers on both sides.

Whereas the mounts that came on the 711M block have 50mm round rubbers on each side but one bracket is shorter than the other by about 15mm.

I have been told that the MK1 and MK2 crossmembers are the same. So does that mean a 711M block is 15mm wider than a 681F block?

Should I be using the mounts that came with the 711M? And if so, which side is the shorter mount fitted to- driver or passenger? Another thing I'll most likely need to do if I use the 711M mounts, is slot the holes in my crossmember. At the moment it's just a 10mm hole.

The 711M block is 1/2" wider to make it the same width as a pinto block. The 4 mount bosses on the left hand side are taller.

I suggest putting in a later crossmember and going to the 711M brackets and round mounts. 2 reasons for that, 1 the early crossmemebers are thin and flimsy and 2 I need early crossmember for a Twin cam resto.

Either way I was going to have to buy an engine mount, because one was stuffed from each motor. After speaking with yesterford again today, we decided the best way to go was to use another rectangular mount that is 15mm~ shorter than the 681F mounts, then the motor will fit to the crossmember with no modifications and will be the correct size for the 711M block. Sorry I couldn't help with a crossmember MK1 lotus. Best of luck finding one for your twink.
