Is there any thing special about the twin cam diff? I mean apart from larger brakes and the arm mounts? Reason I ask is I have another mk1 diff, and I strongly suspect the twin cam diff may be bent as it has very large piece of right angle steel welded to the top to 'strengthen' it, looks like a special stage running repair, plus its had the arm mounts hacked to mount a sway bar and it needs alot of love.
So I plan to swap over the brakes onto the stock diff, this will work yeah?

Tex, I think the axles are stronger. In comparing them with the axles from a 1300 Mk1 they look thicker to me, but I have not measured them.

Hi Tex. My Twincam has a large bracket welded on it as well, it was normal practice for club and race cars. Found this that may help
