The reality is that your age is against you so far as any insurer is concerned. Unfortunately, your age group is where most insurance claims emanate. You should be aware that the cheapest is not always the best. Make sure you read the fine print. I think you will find that only the classic vehicles insurers such as Shannons even contemplate letting you keep the wreck if the worst should happen.

I understand that, so it doesn't bother me to pay extra due to being a high risk driver with a high risk car. Still doesn't change the fact that some 18/19 nearly drove into me today, no indicator didn't look for a lane change as I passing the retard. Air horns are great.

i just went online and played around to see what it'd say about our Mk1 2dr. i tried 3 different insurers, incl'g our current and all said NO due to age of car and or the value i wanted it insured for!! first quote came back saying value was $1250! with Shannons dropped the value by $1000 each time ( starting at $10,000, stopped at $8000 )and it just kept saying value is over maximum allowed!

funs times ahead when it's finished!!

my car is with GIO Vintage/veteran as JamesR earlier mentioned. Our cars are considered to be Appreciating in value according to them the woman on the phone was saying to me. Its around $330ish a year for me (24 years old) and included in that is a fee of something around $30 to buy the wreck should the worst happen. However, my policy does stipulate many if not all the mods but now i'm going to be doing a engine swap and changing my car more towards motorsport they tend to frown on this. You can't have a roll cage either whether is engineered or not, they claim that the car must be getting used for motorsport.
