What is the difference of the turbo location betweeen 2wd and 4wd manifold. Is it just that the 4wd drive keeps the turbo closer to the head or is there differences in location front to back.

The 2wd manifold is in two pices and the 4x4 manifold is 1 piece, i think the reason they use the 2wd manifold on a 4x4 cosworth is by doing that you can fit a bigger turbo, but i may be wrong on that, it just seem,s logical. At least thats why i have bought one.

The 4x4 manifold is compact, but with a GT30/76R it is a tight fit, really tight...We could compare mine to Phil's (2wd) in some photos to see if the location is the same or not. It would be fair to say the 4x4 keeps the turbo closer to the head...

Luke, I think the compressor position is virtually the same but the exhaust housing orientation is different and the dump pipe will also be slightly different. When I built my new manifold for the GT3076 I rotated the ehaust housing on the dump pipe then made a jig to hold the turbo while I made the manifold. My only regret is not moving the turbo away from the head slightly so a .70ar compressor housing could fit incase I feel the need to fit a larger turbo later on. With my current set up it is interchangeable between my 2wd and my custom manifold As mark said, a good comparison will be pics of my car with 2wd manifold and GT3076 compared to his current set up[;^)]
