The 72 is usualy the first model year the part was made for. Aussie capri parts normaly start with 70 as all our capris were basicaly just 70 models.(Speaking of v6) My capri mk1 has some parts that start with 72 (engine, air cleaner and others). These parts were introduced in the uk before the mk1 face lift model so could be in the last year of the original mk1 or in the mk1 facelift model which the rs3100 came from and even in later models. But not in the aussie model.

I don't have a parts book that shows BA as a regular part number, closest is TC Cortina which is mostly BB and BG. The only BA in the Cortina parts book are the listings for complete shells (minus paint and trim).

Maybe Escort or Falcon?

Oddity this part, its a NOS auto selector surround with the 12DNRP and the rubber strips for the stick to go through. However these 2 sections seen to be on opposite sides to normal. My thoughts were LHD cars but even these look normal. Its in a Ford Broadmeadows box but there is no label. If anyone has a parts listing could you list the number of the auto shifter surround, this might provide a clue

My parts book lists the number as CH 7D394 AA. Page is dated 11/73. Could it be Transit. The manual shifters were very similar.
