Im having trouble puttig the bolt in the radius rod. Ive tried it with the diff at all heights but whatever I do it still seems to be about half a bolt width out. Ford used to have a special tool that would pull the rod to the bracket on the diff so the bolt would go in. Im just wondering how folks on here have solved this problem?

Did you check the distance between the rear bush insert and the front bracket holes? The rear bush is offset and needs to rotated prior to pressing in to give a distance of 252mm. You slide in the front bolt first and then you should be able to get the rear bolt through using a screwdriver as a lever. You need to lower the car and put the weight on the wheels THEN tighten the nuts to spec. The special ford tool would be unobtainable now, it looks like a dual claw with a rod on a pivot

Thanks JR, I didn't realize those bushes were off centre. Also with the nolathane bushes there is less compliance to make it fit. What I did was load the boot up with bricks and jacked the diff up to get the holes as close as possible then ground the threaded end of the bolt a bit pointy. This allowed the bolt to centralize and pull the bush that last bit into line. Another job done.
