gtv6capri (J.R) & the Capri clinic do refurbishments and there are some remanufactured switches on UK ebay coming out of Poland.I replaced all the switches in my MK1 except the headlight switch (go for crazy prices[:0])with supposedly N.O.S. switches off UK ebay

Dash original also do them. I put together a full set just by keeping an eye on ebay searching for nos. Whether they are NOS or repros who knows but they are all great quality.

I think capriclininc is just a set of stickers and instructions on how to fit them.

Too much power flows thru that switch and the plug will eventualy melt. Due to a previous mishap with mine someone had just soldered the wires to the pins. Good for flowing the power but no good for future disassembly/maintainance.
I found that one side of a spade terminal pushes snugly right on to the pin so I just fitted the wires up with insulated termials.
Still too much power going thru the switch tho so I installed relays for the lights, now the switch only has to provide a small current to engage the relay.

The other problem with the headlights is the power runs through the ignition switch as well which can make it melt.

I put a relay in my headlight circuit to take the load away from the wiring.

Yeah will be putting a relay into the headlight & starter curcuits as well.

I am also going to do the heater and wipers as they also draw a resonable load. I feel uneasy when my key gets hot.

I have a dash switch of which looks like a rev counter dial on it yeah I know a bit weird but it is like an on & off switch so with 2 pin contacts on the back at the bottom right hand side,I am guessing that it is a dimmer switch for the dash lights, is that what it is ??
