My lad pulled his engine/gearbox out so that we could do some work on the firewall rust and now he has put it back together he cannot remember where some of the wiring goes. In particular the wire that comes out of the auto gearbox which has two prongs and is quite thick. This is not a reversing wire as far as I know but does anybody else know what it connects to? I think it connects to the harness in the engine bay adjacent to the inlet manifold but I am not sure. Any advice? Thanks. Ken

i think that would be the inhibitor switch.
on the Mk2's theres a cylinder looking relay on the passenger inner wing, that had the wires that go to the auto.
