Hi All,
I have a green 76 Escort van which, despite spending a fair bit of cash on over the years, is growing on me.
One of the biggest issues I have been dealing with is the relatively small doors and cramped cabin space. I have been riding around with the window winder lodged into an annoying spot on my right knee for quite some time. The other day I was looking for the jack and found out its behind the drivers seat, after putting it back I was smashing the seat along the rails to get it back into position and found it wanted to go further back, with a bit of spirited shoving the seat was another couple of inches further back than it was before, whatdayaknow my legs fit in now :) There must have been a build up of crap on the rails that I worked through.
That went a big way to making me like the car a lot more.
My question today is, whats with the fuel filler on vans?
I see many like mine, with scars from where the fuel filler lets fuel out if you fill it to the top, it happened to me the first time i filled it.
The fuel is very difficult to get in as well, constantly popping the auto-stop, no matter which way you hold the trigger, or your tongue..
It appears as though the cap is sound.
Any suggestions, anybody beat it?
GMU..
(EDIT)
P.S.
Read through a couple of mega build threads over the last couple of days, some on the rollaclub site as well.
Mish, I bow to your enthusiasm :)
