Hi Guys, ... I'm a little confused, Re: the difference, if any on 1300 & 1600's compared to standard 2.0 Litre,
is it Fluid capacity, or Mounting brackets, or both. Have only seen one 2.0 mounted, close to the Slam panel,
the 2 mounting bracket tabs appear to be one to radiator support panels, the other for a Fan Shroud.???
Me Thinks, if I de-solder the brackets and swap them to the opposite side of the radiator, I've then got a
2.0 litre Radiator.!! (or may bee not) Please enlighten me.!!

To start with the mk1 radiator is shorter than mk2 radiator , and the 2.0 radiator is same as 1600 with them bkts spun around to locate further forward. If your after extra cooling hunt for a mk2 Cortina radiator and swap the bkts around to fit in the mk2 escort 2.0 spot.
Here's a pic of my mk2 when I did this very conversion way back in 1997, I still own the car but later fitted a Corona/Celica '84 radiator for extra capacity

One i would like to reside in a mk1 Have you any ideas on how this may be achieved effectively
cooling a 2.0 Litre engine.???
Bearing in mind possible changes by Vic Roads, is a 2.0 litre a legitimate engine, in a mk1.???
Was a mk1 sold by Ford ever powered by a 2.0 Litre, as an option.???

Fitting a pinto in mk1 is straight forward as you'd expect along with some wiring for alt etc you can use a mk2 Cortina rad in your mk1 by swapping bkts to pinto style and looks factory. As long as you use the brakes from the donor mk2. . Mainly the Struts/rotors or from Capri . If your rules in vic are like here in SA (retarded) it'll need a ticket to get Rego. There was a few imported RS2000s back in the early 70s for motorsport use but some did escape it to the streets. Having said that the rta does not acknowledge they're existence. You can argue the point like I did and compare the pinto to the Lotus twincam which had more power than pinto and an exposed battery in the boot etc etc but will get no where lol.
