Hey there.

I was wondering what people have done (if anything) as a suitable replacement for these trims. I was considering glueing some sort of cloth similar to the headlining and attaching the seatbelt holders as well.

Basically my trims had to deal with rear venetians poking into them and years of sun caused them to start disintegrating. They are still mostly in one piece but the quality is very poor and i'd rather not use them.

I have been unable to find any sort of replacements and I doubt these can be restored at a good price.

Any help is appreciated.

Below is a current set on ebay if you are confused what I am talking about: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MK2-Escort-4-door-C-pillar-inner-trims-set-2/150873808504?ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1&ih=005&category=33705&cmd=ViewItem#ht_500wt_1288

Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem with the venetians, and looking to replace the headlining too, I would worry about removing these covers without them breaking... Surely someone makes new versions of these, I'll be keeping an eye out.

Carbon fibre anyone?  Might look OK with black headlining.

Think I might just resort to trying to buy a better quality pair and then i'll do everything to try and preserve them.

Coat the panel in some sort of spray or something. Not quite sure.

Hi,
My pair were pretty ratty, patched up as best I could and covered them in vinyl to match the headlining .  I have a 2 door and don't know if the 4 door ones are the same. Would be good if they are, gives you a wider market to explore.  Maybe someone with good fibreglassing skills could reproduce some, I would try but don;t have a good set to use as a mould.

Cheers,

Len

2 door ones are much narrower than 4 door ones ( talking mk2 here) but both deteriorate with UV and usually the rear upper edge crumbles...
