what are they no good?
RS seats need the strapping fixed might just store them somewhere and use some other seats for the time being. Will get longer out of the RS seats that way

Yeah I'm good yourself? yes mate still got the brick i was looking at that the other day, might start working on it. Just gone on 7 years this month but i will get around to fixing it.

Don't worry Ty i didn't.
If anyone is looking scheel seats australia will make the straps for the bottom of the seats.

$55 i think i paid for all the straps delivered, put them in and seats are all good again.

Tried a few upholsterers with some stupid prices.....

Yeah upholsters are expensive! I had RS Scheel's restrapped and upholstered roughly 5 years ago and it cost $700 for the pair. Mind you, they were in horrible condition and it was worth every penny because they came out better than new.

Monzas do not bolt straight up to the "standard" escort floor mounted pillars (ie L, XL,GL) without slotting the mounting holes slightly and mounting escort rails to the seats, but they do fit.  (I have them in 2 cars)  However their quality ain't that great as you get what you pay for essentially... (They are quite faded on the exposed shoulder, the cushions are not too well held in, durability for an everyday car would be questionable  and the shoulder wings bend relatively easily if lent on too hard by a big boned person...).  However the one in my Autocross car has held up with all the abuse that car gets over about 8 years, so considering you can pick them up for about $250 a pair they are worth a go short term...

Not sure about an RS where the seat mounts come with the seat and they then effectively bolt to the floor....  Ghia seats work if you are needing something that bolts in short term...  Did that on my RS for about 8 years and it made the car handle significantly worse (they did not hold me as tight and therefore the car felt a lot looser in the twisties...)  There appear to be 2 sorts of mountings for the RS seats too, as my RS seats have 2 adjustable heights built into the base whereas most seem to be the same as the Ghia seats... The Ghia ones would be easier to modify and slot the mounting holes if similar to the mods needed on a "standard" escort...
