On the old forum we had a thread on this but just a few qu's...
I have the Big Brake kit off ebay, even with the Capri struts the rotor is only 2/3mm away from the steering arm, what is the clearance an engineer would want?
I was thinking of adding a spacer inbetween the steering arm and the strut...hmmm what affect woud this have??(bigger turning circle maybe??)

Lastly, as the booster has to go to fit the sr20, i believe if a car was fitted with a booster it MUST be fitted to pass engineering. I have a pedal box, thanks to paul (that looks bloody awesome!!)
but i was looking at a remote unit a VH40 seems to be the go any one got any comments or information on this??

Cheers

Hi Barney
This is the prime reason I came up with my own front brake set-up as I was not happy with the clearance when wanting vented whilst using the usual suspectes (Capri, BMW, laser etc). I think you can prob add a spacer to the Capri strut steering arm with little effect on geopmetry but others may be able to provide further info.
You should check with a local engineer but you may not be required to fit a booster. My engineer in SA is happy as long as the pedal effort is acceptable to obtain the required retardation during an pre-determined stop. If you design the hydraulic system correctly then it should be fine as long as your engineer is happy.

Thanks Paul...
Yeah gonna chat to the engineer in the week. I got the ebay kit about 18months ago prob before your design was out there... it was cheap so not too fussed, i'll try the spacer and see how it goes.
I was watching The Fast & The Furious the other night and gave me a bit of insperation to get into it again!! :) Just gotta build a shed to get some stuff out the garage and give me room to move...arrgghh
Cheers

I am running tx3/volvo and 2lt struts and clearance is 6mm. I dont see any issues with that.
