If anyone else has different strut tops fitted id like to hear what people think, how much and where from!

I've got these ones in mine. From MC Motorsport in the UK (http://www.mcmotorsport.co.uk/).
I have no idea if they're any good or not, cause the car is still not going.

Thanks hak073, they look really good. The only thing is on the site they only say they are for large hole, and mine is a 79, so i emailed them to see if they can make ones to suit.

Seems to me like a very good price.

Other than the K-Mac struts tops it is pretty difficult to find strut tops to suit the later MKII's with the smaller strut holes.

My plan is to get a suspension place to fit them for me and then drill holes in the tops.  Set and forget so to speak.

I have received emails back from both mcmotorsport and eurospeed, and its not looking good for the small hole tops. They dont stock them for small hole, but this is the email i got from mcmotorsport

"Hi
I have been asked the question several times, but I'm afraid it's not possible for this type of adjustable mount to be fitted to the small hole top mount Escort.  I have looked into it and you would only end up with about 5mm of movement either way.  It is possible to modify the inner wing on the small hole escort to the same size as the large hole one's to allow these to fit.
Hope this helps
Regards Martin"

That would be all well and good but i dont feel comfortable modifying it to fit at this stage so it seems that the ones i have will have to do for now.

Also i have spoken to Mike Dale about the springs and he said that they are a bit too soft, id want more like 250lb, but he said i could try the ones i have and see how they go. If im happy with how these are then i wont need to buy new ones so im hoping they are a vast improvement over standard. He also said that the 22mm sway bar was spot on.

When i was running a late Mk2 i used the solid bushed Noltec's. Nothing wrong with them.

Noltecs are made by Wilkinson Suspension in WA. I have a set of small hole adjustables on my Mk2 Escort. Well priced and very easy to deal with. Got the results I wanted.

i had the same issues and have small holes in the van,

i got the eccentric strut tops from burtons and adjustable TCA's  this seemed like a good compromise  and a fairly cheap option, I cant tell you how it handles as ive only pushed it and am yet to drive it, I also went the 22mm bar with a burtons anti dive kit,

HI Sundowner,

Looking good.

I have the similar strut tops to you.  Mine are from Eurospeed but to suit a MKI so they need the be redrilled.  How hard was it for the suspension dudes to fit the strut tops as I am getting mine done and was just keen on any feed back.

Cheers,

Forget what I said above as I just checked out the burton website.

Do you just drill out the top hat collars to suit your shock and you are away?

Thsi might just solve my problems...

Cool

just check the with of your insert matt, the top part that will come through the strut top.

i have had an issue where the collars that come with the strut tops i got werent tall enough for the length of the shelf on my GAZ inserts, see the collar on the model below.
http://www.burtonpower.com/mp164.htmlso there is a small amount freeplay where the insert slides up through the collar,
so i have purchased these in hope of them taking up the room and fixing my issue.

i will know once the arrive,
just check the width of the top of your insert and buy the collars to suit when you get the strut tops.
