hey just wondering where to get 175/50/13 in tyres and also 185/50/13 , i called the a tyre shop asking about the size but he wouldnt really help me out

If you look on some of the aussie web sites for mini enthusiasts (the Morris/Leyland Mini not BMW) they have tyre shops that can get Yokohama 50 series 13" diameter tyres. Trouble is, they're probably not roadworthy on the Escort due to the reduction in overall rolling diameter - they do look good though!

Those are pretty low profile tyres for an Escort.  In order to get the standard rolling diameter you need to use something like:
 
155/78R13
175/70R13
185/65R13
205/60R13
 
175/70s are probably the easiest to get from a regular tyre shop, although the range is a bit limited and the tread pattern not exactly exciting.  For a street legal race tyre, see the Toyo Proxes R888 in 185/60R13 and 205/60R13 starting at around to $1000 for a set.

also look at http://www.tirerack.com if you want standard 13 in tyres. They don't carry 50 profile ones though.

According to their website the shipping estimate at the checkout may not be accurate, but even if it ends up being more, it's still a worthwhile saving.  Good call!

I've ordered a048 yokos from demon tweeks and the shipping estimate is very close.

Midlandwheels.com (in the UK) is another good place to try as their shipping is lower and they have some tyres of the same size as Brando92 wanted.

Having a similar problem myself.
Falken tyres do a ze912 tyre.
Its available in a 185x60x13 and a 205x60x13.
There is also a smaller width available.
A few of the UK guys use the 185 tyres for their cars. (As per the retro ford and classic ford mags).
I will probably get the 185 for the fronts and 205 for the rears.
Tyrepower stock them and the 185 were about $155 from my local one, but I have yet to shop around.
So it would be around $620. A quick currency conversion on the others were about $730 (if importing from UK).
I have not used these tyres yet but the tyre is a popular choice on some of the cars featured in the mags over there.
