Hi

I am looking at buying some JBW wheels from midland. I have a 1979 RS 2000 with rolled standard arches. The wheels are 13 x 7 with a offset of ET6. Just wanted to know if any one has bought from them also if these wheels will fit my car. I understand that the standard offset is 12p so what I can gather is that this wheel will sit a further 6 mm out from standard offset.

Cheers Lachie

Hi Glenn
Thanks for the reply. I was going to buy some performance superlites but in 13 x 7 I don't think they will fit. Also buying online I can get the RS 4 spoke cheaper. I would love to see some photos of the rims. Did you have any clearance issues and what size tyres did you fit.

Cheers

We brought some porsche replica's for the wife's Kombi from Midland and they too are made by JBW.  We too had decent service from Midland and the wheels came in at just under $800.00 and got here in less than a week.  I was pretty happy with the quality of the wheel for the $$ you pay.  I too have been eyeing off the RS replica's for my RS as well.  Post up some pic's whooligan.

187.50 pound for the wheels and either 138 or 148 pound for postage depending on which option you pick.

I understand that the standard offset is 12p so what I can gather is that this wheel will sit a further 6 mm out from standard offset.

Using the figures you have quoted, and assuming you are referring to a 6x13" with 12p wheel as the starting point, the new wheels have about 7mm less inside clearance, and extend a further 19mm.

See:

The cited size and offset of these wheels suggests a wheel backspace of 4.25" ( which I think is about 1/4" deeper than an Escort 5" steel wheel and optional 5.5" alloy "Volante" wheel.  I'd be grateful if anyone owning a set of these 4 spoke replicas could verify this and perhaps even post some photos of them fitted.

Sorry, but the links I added have been automatically deleted as a I am a new member.  Curiously, despite joining and posting on 17/10 (i.e. 2 days ago), the message I received about this states that I only joined on 18/10 (yesterday), and hence I cannot PM or post links for one more day.  Maybe this is the new maths I've heard about.  Anyway, assuming all is well tomorrow, I'll edit the message accordingly.

Hi Flighter

Welcome to the forum. I bought some of the wheels about 2 months ago. the company are very easy to deal with and to my door with in 3 days for $600 dollars. I have posted some pictures of my car. The inner gaurds have been rolled but the wheels fill out them really nice. I am running 205/60/13 rims.
Hope this helps.
