Now, as an old **** over 50, what is the world time attack challenge? Looks like big turbos, and excellent race engineering, but.............. Perhaps a one paragraph explanation

It's basically a timed event where production based cars try to get the quickest time. There are 3 classes - clubsprint, open and pro. Clubsprint are street registered cars running on street tyres. Open class can be racing cars with semi slicks and the pro class is for the big teams and is by invitation only.

The quickest car I saw yesterday did a 1m28s lap. This was a Mitsubishi EVO. To put this into perspective, the V8 Supercar record is 1m31s

And just a lazy 7 secs a lap quicker than the corty's old times Although I believe the resurfacing on turn one is worth 2 secs a lap now
