Hey Admin, could we make it mandatory for a price and photo/s of item offered for sale to be listed in the sale? Much easier for a potential buyer to get a better understanding of what they're about to purchase and if it's worth the asking price.

I second this.
It would be nice to have a template that you fill out with all the details a potential buyer needs to decide if Its worth either asking more questions or saying they will take it.

Tho please don't turn this place into other forums that ban you if you don't post correctly.

Hi Guys,

The forum isnt configured to enforce this type of detail but yeah it can be frustrating at times without pics and prices, and possibly an indication of how serious the seller actually is about selling. Other forums use listing templates to ensure all the detail is included, although for me personally I have not listed items for sale there for no other reason than that I didn't have a pic at the time. Needless to say I didn't end up listing there at all. It is pretty easy to PM for extra detail even though the need for this at times would have also prevented enquiry. My preference would be to have the opportunity to chase up the seller after a listing with limited detail than to not have the opportunity at all...each to their own I guess Just food for thought guys We can do anything if there is enough support so people give us your opinions[;^)]

I second that. Location is of equal importance to both price and pics.

OK, all good points but enforcing these is difficult and I agree with Phil.

At the end of the day it's to the discretion of the seller to place whatever information they seem relevant to the item - this may include images, price and location. Ultimately it's in the best interest of the seller to provide as much information as possible to assist a timely sale of the item.

as for trying to enforce the issue Phil, it would be as simple as removing the Ad that doesnt have the correct information in it.

As for Photos are a 100% must im not too sure as there are those that have no clue of how to do this, but Location and Price should be a must!

EG.

[VIC] Item for Sale (in the title)

And again in the message with a more detailed location in said state... And a Price.

Just a thought as this is how some other forums work and seems to work well...

If the poster fails to have their ad in the correct manner a simple email to change and comply within XX hours or else deletion will occur

There is a sticky which spells all this out so maybe folk posting for sale need to re-aquaint themselves.......

I personnally do not want to begin deleting posts due to incorrectly listing an item for sale. We're all here to enjoy ourselves and I think this will create more problems than it will fix. I feel less intervention by others is better and easier for everyone.

If you're interested and require further details then ask a question!
