The odd jobs roll on! I have been spending my time polishing glass to remove a few fine scratches from the windows before they go back in... Jesus christ its such a painstaking and dirty process, so far I have done one rear quarter window, the two front quater windows and the rear screen is half done.

If you're going to try it, don't buy cheap abrasives, they do jack ****, buy the Mirka Abalon pads - they're expensive at like 40 bucks for a 5 pack but they get the job done.

Baily channels are in too, theyre hard to see though even with a close up.

And I can finally show you all what I my plans have been at the front of the car!

Look at that shiny AC condenser!! Thats right, shes getting a custom made air conditioning system, I am going electric, and the pump will be located behind the left headlight assembly up at the front / top of the guard. I have plans on how I am going to implement it on the standard heater box, think add on and think 3d printed . I love this bloody printer, it's so great. The mounts are black ABS plastic and they are STRONG. That condenser is going nowhere. Next up is designing and printing the fan caddy. I am going to put a push type fan up front that can trigger with both the AC and the engine temp. Oh and here is what the tinkercad of the mounts looked like. I used two of the red mount on either side with rivnuts in the slam panel to mount everything.

Oh no quick, take that side glass out again, forgot to install the hood liner, I'm sure the longer hooks around the window seam.
I think the design is the best part of printing, your bkt looks beef enough and solid plus rivnuts it ain't moving nowhere!

Ahh bugger you're right it does, good pickup. I'll have to pivot to getting that organised.

Thank you, I would have been quite annoyed if I got all the rear glass in and had to take it out again.

Awesome work Mark, its coming along nicely.
Thanks for the tip on the glass polishing, I've got a couple of light scratches in my front passenger window and being factory tint I'm not likely to find another one in a hurry let alone in any better condition.
I'll be interested to see the install of the electric A/C. I've got a factory A/C mine but the compressor has always being a sticking point of getting it operational. The left hand mounted type clashes with the carbs and the right hand mount was designed for a manifold not headers. It clears but only just, plan was to modify the mounts but I've just never gotten around to it. An electric one would solve all of that.

Basically you need a 125mm random orbital sander or a 125mm pad attachment for a grinder, recommend the random orbital though, easier to control. My first attempt I tried the drill style system and actually made the rear screen worse.

I can't recommend the Mirka pads enough, they made light work of the mistakes I made on the rear window and when starting the other windows off with them was honestly so much easier. But you go through the 500 grit pads really quick and I've ran out with more work still to do and have more on order.

Every single one of my windows had scratches in them unfortunately, either from old hard seals on the front door windows, general wear and tear, or my storage mistake on the rear window - I accidentally slid the rear glass on the shelf without picking it up, that was enough to scratch it.

There are still some minor scratches on the driver window, right where the safety glass label is, so I can't polish them out without risking damaging the symbol. So I might get a pro to have a crack at that window at some point in the future.

While I wait for the roof lining and a few other parts to arrive I kicked on with designing and printing an ECU / Fuse caddy, this will live bolted to the top of the glove box.

The holes along the edge are so I can mount relays for fans accessories etc and a main power relay for the fuse block which will trigger off the key.

The ABS did have a little cooling warp because its a massive flat surface on the bottom but it's nothing that will affect the operation. I've got the lid cuttently going in the printer now.

Bit more live action before the weekend, decided I wasnt 100% happy with the ECU caddy with only four fasteners for the lid, plus the lid was a little flimsy, so redesigned the lid, added two more fasteners and some extra bracing around the edges and middle, also printed it this time in PETG instead of ABS. The PETG had much less warping and ended up a nicer overall print.

So that's now in the cupboard waiting for final wire / install. My fan also arrived for the condenser so spent some time figuring out the best way to get that on the condenser, in the end I went with the good old fasioned constant pressure fastner method (aka springs).

I also ran a foam seal around the outside of the fan to help seal around the shroud. I'm not going with a complete cover fan shroud on the condenser as I want as much airflow through/past it as possible for the rad and intercooler behind it. The rad will have a shroud made up and the biggest thermo I can fit on it.

Gents does anyone remember the correct orientation for these parts? I cant remember but I think they go on from left to right as pictured but just wanted to make sure.

Can't seem to see the star washer in there or listed in the parts summary.

I saw that same photo and this is what is in the manual. Mine is set up a little different, I think being a late 79 build they changed something.

Looking at it again I think this is how it sits.
