Ohh good play, one of the guys at work was giving me a hard time this morning saying that I could have the car back on the road in ten days!

He clearly doesn't understand that most of the joy in building a car is the tinkering itself!

It works out to a factor of 10.. 10 days is 10 weeks. 6 months is 6yrs etc. Mine has been a project for 7yrs when I said about a year and I've at least 1 year to go so the theory is pretty close 🤣

Only three more years to go then 🤣

LSD has arrived I just need to go pick it up, planning to tackle that very shortly!

I got the bonnet release spring on and finished up the safety catch today. Still need to get the hardware for the latch sorted so thats my next little job along with the bonnet cable routing. Hopefully I can also pick up my powder coating bits for the long weekend so I'll have plenty to get on with!

Pretty big difference from what it looked like to start off with!

Cool, I'd like to see the lsd before you install it , all you need is a bearing press and the rest is straightforward.
Only thing that ruins the pic is those crusty bolts, swap them for a Allen button heads or something, another handy hint is to glue on a striker plate on the slam panel where the latch hits before it hooks up. I did one on my yellow van in alloy but stainless is good as well

any chance then, that the bonnet spring retailing bolt could be tightened a poofteenth more, just to get the text on the bolt straight, and the hex point exactly vertical?
Other than that 100%.

(can''t wait for the equal critique on my next van pic, although you would be going all day. I wish my finishing standards were as high as yours Mark!)

so when you upgrade to an lsd, is it just a matter of bolting it in and its virtually adjusted already?
Does an upgrade like this mean you still have to work out the preload, and do the crush tube setup?

I'm wondering if this sort of upgrade might negate any incorrect backlash setup I had done when playing with the diff a few years ago.

Wait, holiday what..
Rooly rooly nice unit, very similar to the Quaife in construction.
The unit has it's own set slip percentage like 78% etc. As for preload you set it up as a normal centre , normally set the pinion crush load first then the crown wheel, can't really stuff it up.
You should get one Deano or have it on your Xmas list
